Spring Update 2026
Finally some nice weather! The season is underway and it's been a blast. This year I get to coach the 9u Navy team before my high school guys come back in June. These kids crack me up and so do some of the other coaches we've played. I almost wrote an article about a guy who was threatening to protest the game! Keep in mind he was threatening to protest a call in a 9u B level tournament...people are so crazy.
9 year old baseball is a just a little different than coaching 15s. My 15 year old team can really pitch so other teams will try to steal our signs. We don't even have signs at 9u so it's been a nice change of pace. At 9u we are just focused on learning how to play the game, being a good teammate, and having fun. I would say they are having fun, when they win they like to do the sea lion.
Players to watch:
Connor Hafto (Soph at Gwynned Mercy)
It's not easy to get innings as a freshman in college. Connor has 63 innings pitched, a 2.73 ERA, and a 5-2 record. He earned AEC weekly honors and threw a complete game during the freshman campaign.
Gio Cristinzio (Senior at Wash TWP)
Currently batting .438 with 3 doubles and 3 triples. He was hitting over .500 to start the year. Recently committed to Rutgers Camden, Gio is a player to watch as a captain in the lead off spot!
Josh Yurgin (Soph at Clearview)
A lot of pressure comes with being the ACE of the staff, but as a sophomore! Josh has been impressive posting 0.88 ERA 3/4 through the season with 6 wins. Josh is on track to break the win record at Clearview (held by Drew Ryback)
Colton Robinson (Frosh at St. Joes Hammonton)
A 2- way player. Lefty on the mound and centerfielder. Colton is hitting .518 with 29 hits. He also has 61K's through 31 innings pitched. The young talented lefty is on track for impressive high school career.
